Skydio 2. A drone that a 3-year-old can fly:Skydio 2 is a new entry in the drone market and it is going to give strong competition to DJI. Skydio has some amazing features and some disadvantages which we will be discussing today.
Talking about the advantages, this drone is very good at tracking objects and is also capable of avoiding collisions. This drone has a good built quality and also includes 6 fish eye cameras. It is capable of recording 4k footage at 60 frames per second. The drone is quite easy to fly as the company mentioned that even a 3 year can fly. It has 2 miles of range.
You can fly the drone with your smartphone, beacon or the controller. It’s very good for beginners and drone tracking is just great while using the beacon. The drone struggles to track when you are using it with a mobile device. Overall it’s a good package for $990.
Now let’s talk about the disadvantages, the controller takes a lot of time to sync and sometimes you are not even recognized by the device. The video output is a bit laggy even if you are standing right below the drone. The controller quality is not that great and there are many more good controllers in the market. When flying with the beacon the GPS sync takes a lot of time to connect. The software still needs to be more responsive and optimized.
Skydio 2 is a good drone and is capable of getting some good quality shots. The professionals may not like it that much just because of how the controller feels and some other footage aspects. So that was all about the Skydio 2.
