We have all heard the recent news about how the Jeff Bezos Phone got hacked. Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman hacked into the smartphone of the world’s richest man. It was back in 2018 when The Saudi Prince and Jeff Bezos met in LA. After a month they exchanged their numbers and had a friendly conversation over WhatsApp. Yes, even the richest use the most famous yet free social media messenger, Whatsapp!
During the conversation, the Prince sends a video file that was infected with targeted spyware to Jeff which changed everything. It created infinite loops to transfer personal information from Jeff’s smartphone. The malware is known as Pegasus.
After some time the Prince sent another text message to Jeff with a very mysterious heading. We got it from an article from the verge “Arguing with a woman is like reading the software license agreement. In the end, you have to ignore everything and click I agree”. Along with a picture of Jeff’s wife.
Jeff Bezos realized that his Phone got hacked by Pegasus Spyware. At the end of the day, it all sums up to technology in which humans are evolving and have no end. The use of technology has made our life’s easier and convenient than ever before. But there is always a limitation on its social application.
The Pegasus Spyware could have been a potential piece of tech in the ethical world. With that said, we still cannot trust our data with anyone out there and there are many Spywares like pegasus still active. So just give a second thought by allowing permissions to third-party apps accessing your device information.
